Heart Diseases and Elliptical Trainers
I feel obligated to share my story with you because it may save your life
someday. Although this may seem like a simple answer, by using an
elliptical trainer four times a week, I have dramatically increased my
heart health and have a renewed sense of vigor as well. At least twenty
minutes a day, four days a week is all that is really needed to keep up my
health at this point. Here's a little bit about my story.
It was the strangest thing; I wasn't exerting myself, I wasn't feeling any
emotional issues, in fact my cat was resting soundly on my lap. I was in a
state of complete peace. All of a sudden, I felt this extreme bout of
indigestion followed by squeezing sensations throughout my spine. Then the
sensations began racing up to my sternum; I felt it in my throat and jaws.
I then looked at my cat, gently tossed him on the floor and headed for the
bedroom where my phone was. I dialed the paramedics, and told her that I
though I was having a heart attack. She remained calm, and told me she
would send the paramedics over right away. I then unbolted the front door,
plopped down on the ground and lost consciousness.
The truth is I don't remember anything that happened after I lay on the
floor. Then I woke up to the paramedic asking me questions, and then I
fell unconscious again. This process went on for some time.
The next thing I remember is the cardiologist placing an angiogram balloon
into my heart. Before the paramedics arrived, it felt like an hour, but it
as only several minutes. The reason I'm explaining this in great detail is
because I want to share what I learned first-hand.
Most the time, women especially, believe they are having bad
indigestion-not a heart attack. So they often don't get the urgent
treatment they need. Symptoms vary quite a bit, but when in doubt, it's
always wise to see a doctor.
My cardiologist had many recommendations for improving my health. One
suggestion had to do with using elliptical machines. By using an
elliptical trainer at least four times a week, I could dramatically reduce
the chances of having another heart attack anytime soon. Of course there
is no way to completely avoid a heart attack, but there are things that
can be done to increase the longevity before having one.
A healthy diet, exercise, plenty of rest, meditation, and laughter all
seem to be methods for extending one's life. However, to be more specific,
as far as exercise is concerned the benefits of an elliptical cross
trainer are infinite; it works the upper and lower body, whether you're
looking to increase endurance, or improve heart health, an elliptical
trainer offers a low impact method of lowering blood pressure,
cholesterol, improving heart health, and improving one's overall fitness.
The elliptical trainer is perfect because you do not cause wear-and-tear
on the joints, the gliding motion creates a high-impact exercise without
hurting the joints; it's even more gentle on the joints than walking.
There is certainly no way to live forever, but by practicing the
aforementioned healthy lifestyle and including elliptical workouts, one
can certainly lengthen his or her life tenfold.
